In 2019, the Guinean government signed a memorandum of understanding with a Chinese company to develop a 120-megawatt wind farm The hybrid project, located in the Oriental Mindoro province, will combine an existing 16 MW wind power facility and a battery storage solution with an in-house central control system managing the energy produced at the plant. Port Louis Energy Storage Power Station Project
The project will provide four medium speed, four stroke, heavy fuel oil (HFO) driven generators with a capacity of 15 MW each; a power station building; two 1000 cubic metre tanks for the storage of HFO; and one 132 Kv substation for connection of the power plant to the existing electricity grid belonging to the Central Electricity Board (CEB), the State owned electricity utility in Mauritius. Jointly invested and built by China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and Tai'an-based Taian Taishan New Energy Development Co., Ltd., the project has an investment of 2.23 billion yuan in the first phase, which includes construction of a 350-MW/1.4 million kWh generator unit based on the 325-degree Celsius low-melting point molten salt high-temperature thermal insulation compression technology.
