Today, we have more and more renewable energy sources—photovoltaic (PV) solar and wind—connected to the grid by power electronic inverters.

There are typically three possible inverter scenarios for a PV grid system: single central inverter, multiple string inverters and AC modules. The choice is given mainly by the power of the system. Therefore, AC module is chosen for low power of the system (around 100 W typical).
